Introduction BCFC
Busan Choral Festival&Competition is an international cultural event with a rich history, originating from the 2nd World Choir Olympics held successfully in 2002, which saw participation from over 10,000 individuals from 166 choirs across 36 countries.
This festival is hosted by the Busan Metropolitan City, organized by the Korea Choral Institute, and supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
To commemorate the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting held in Busan in 2005, the inaugural event was launched on November 11, 2005, under the name Busan APEC International Choral Competition. In 2006, the event was renamed the Busan Choral Festival&Competition to establish Busan as an international port city, cultural hub, and to contribute to the development of the tourism industry.
Every year, the Busan Choral Festival&Competition invites choirs from over 10 countries to participate voluntarily, making it the only international choral festival in Korea not based on formal invitations.
It has become a globally recognized cultural event, known more overseas than domestically.

The Busan Choral Festival & Competition is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
Over the years, We have established ourselves as a cultural platform for
enjoying and sharing culture through the power of music,
creating valuable opportunities for respect and understanding of different cultures and values.
Through the festival, we have confirmed that music is a common language that unites us,
and we have contributed to fostering solidarity with participants from all over the world.
As we pledge our passion for future challenges and development,
we will strive to bring the beauty of music to more people and promote cultural diversity.
The Busan Choral Festival & Competition is a space where various cultures and arts come together,
and through this, we hope to convey new inspiration not only to the participants but also to the audience.
We aspire to spread hope and light to those in need worldwide through the uplifting power of harmonious melodies.
Moving forward, we will strive to further develop and showcase various arts and cultures in the future.
